Sexually Compulsive Behavior for Gay Men Quiz

Please answer the following questions with either a “Yes” or “No”:

  1. Are you frequently distracted by or preoccupied with sexual thoughts?
  2. Do you regret losing significant amounts of time in the pursuit of sex?
  3. Does the amount of time you spend using phone sex lines, viewing internet porn, or seeking on-line sexual encounters exceed the amount of time you spend with friends, family, or intimate contact with romantic partners?
  4. Do the important people in your life ever express worry or concern about your sexual behavior?
  5. Is it difficult to stop your sexual behavior even when you know it is dangerous to your health and/or inappropriate?
  6. Are you secretative about your sexual activities and keep them hidden from others?
  7. Are sexual bathhouses, nude beaches, adult bookstores, and/or sex clubs an important part of your sexual behavior?
  8. Do you feel casual or anonymous sex has negatively impacted your ability to achieve or maintain a significant, intimate, long term relationship or other achievements in your life?
  9. Once the sexual excitement of a new relationship has ended, do you find it difficult to maintain the relationship?
  10. Has your sexual behavior put you in jeopardy of being charged or arrested with a sexual related crime?
  11. If you are/where HIV-positive or have/had a Sexually Transmitted Diseases, would you continue to participate in dangerous or unsafe sexual behavior?
  12. Do you keep committing to yourself to change your sexual behavior only to break that commitment later?
  13. Is your sexual behavior interfering with your work or private life?
  14. Have you participated in dangerous or unsafe sexual behaviors knowing that it could be detrimental to you?
  15. Have you ever exchanged money for sexual favors?
